Hey hey hey, we finally made it to the beach! It was a really sunny and hot day today so me and Niina spent the afternoon at Shek O beach on the eastern part of Hong Kong island. It was a really nice beach, not too far away either.. it took us maybe 45minutes to go there by MTR and later by bus. The scenery was beautiful with green hills and clear blue water! But oh man was it hot!! We were sweating like crazy just lying there doing nothing... I dont think it was more than 30C but thats already a lot for me! I didnt go swim but I did try the water and it was surprisingly cold, well cold is the wrong word, but I thought it would have been a lot warmer. There was also quite a strong current there so it would have been a bit difficult to swim properly anyway. A lot of people were just playing in the waves, next time Ill definitely join them! :) Well that is if they have shark nets on the beach... Apparently they have quite a lot of sharks here and theyve had some attacks before (probably like 1 in 1978 :D) so no net, no Sofia in the water...! Yeah I know, but Ive just seen Jaws too many times... ;)

So focused on my water... :D
Next wednesday weve been invited to a happening in our hall, should be good! Every floor here has a different name and all of the halls have student associations with chairmen and cultural secretaries etc etc and theyre competing with each other about EVERYTHING!! Theyve got hall championships in badminton, photography, swimming, table tennis, basketball..... everything! Theyve even got massive cupboards full of trophies in the common areas just to show everyone how good they are. Our hall is called Lisheng Hall (were the 5th and the 6th floor) and I think the board of students or whatever its called have invited pretty much every single person in Lisheng to join the happening so Im guessing therell be a lot of people there.... :) Theyre gonna cook (you had to pay $25 for the food and you just bring your own utensils), have games and riddles and other activities. The local students always seem to have something going on in the common areas, theyre either singing together or dancing or playing games.. One day I saw them singing and dancing in a circle to Tsingis Khan..... It wasnt the Frederik version though.... sometimes I do seriously think that theyve placed me in a kindergarten..... :D

Trying to make noodles in a cup thats just way too small in the kitchen in our common area.
Oh and like I promised, this weekend we are going out of Hong Kong.. were going to Macau (after a long concideration between it and mainland China --- by the way just got our visas this morning, yay! Valid till the 12th of march) with about 6 other Finnish people and at least one guy from Italy, Paolo. So a lot more to write about after the weekend cos me and Niina are probably going to Shenzen in mainland China on monday as well :) Cant wait!!
